Actually, visiting zoos usually makes me just sad, but the other day when I visited the Biodôme in Montreal, I saw this cute scene. One of the penguins was really curious and kept staring at the kids, who were staring at him in return.
En fait, les zoos ça me rend généralement juste triste, mais l'autre jour, quand je visitais le Biodôme à Montréal, j'ai vu cette adorable scène. Un des pingouins était vraiment curieux et semblait s'intéresser aux enfants qui l'observaient en retour.

I agree...it makes me sad, too, but also I thik it is wonderful to be able to see the animals up close and children learn a lot from it. Your illustration is beautiful and the exchange between the characters is priceless!
Yes you're right Kate. I think as a child I really loved it. I'm sure the kids who played with the penguin must have beautiful memories of that moment :-). Zoos are also the only place where you can see wild animals up close, but it's so wrong and so sad at the same time :-(
